Customer Support Specialist

Department: Customer Service

Description:  The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for providing high quality customer service to members, providers and other customers of Health Plans, Inc.  The Customer Support Specialist handles inbound calls regarding questions on medical, dental and other benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 – 2 years’ prior customer service in the healthcare industry preferred.  Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, be detailed, organized and able to prioritize tasks, work within timeframes and meet deadlines, recognize and maintain confidentiality, and communicate in a professional manner.  Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

ERISA Plan Documents Administrator

Department: Corporate Compliance

Location: Westborough, MA

Description: Under the direction of the Compliance Manager, this position is responsible for the drafting of ERISA Plan Documents for client’s Employee Health & Welfare Benefit Plans utilizing writing, analytical, organizational and administrative skills with a working knowledge of state and federal regulations to ensure that all contract functions of the Corporate Compliance Department related to clients’ Employee Health & Welfare Plans are performed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Develops, maintains and updates all legally/required benefit plan documents for clients Employee Health & Welfare Plans (“Plans”)’, including medical, dental, health reimbursement accounts and medical care and dependent care reimbursement accounts;
  • Drafts and finalizes Amendments to clients’ Plans;
  • Analyzes and understands Plan Document language, comparing prior carrier documents with Health Plans’ templates in order to incorporate appropriate contract provisions;
  • Incorporates updated language and provisions and maintains template Plan Documents, Schedules of Benefits and other Plan-related documents;
  • Collaborates with other departments (Client Services, Claims, Operations) on Plan eligibility and benefit related issues;
  • Maintains a working knowledge of state and federal regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Actively assists Health Plans’ Sales and Client Services Departments with clients’ Plan-related requests.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to understand and interpret plan documents and amendments
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be detailed, analytical and accurate
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of the team
  • Ability to coordinate with management as effectively as with other co-workers
  • Ability to work within specified timeframes and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel or similar PC based programs

Experience:

  • 3-4 years’ of experience in health plan administration, employee benefits, or benefit plan compliance in the healthcare industry  
  • Health and Welfare Benefit Plan document drafting experience
  • Education or training related to employee benefit plan rules or other administrative  regulations
  • Experience in benefit plan compliance environment a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent work experience

Imaging Specialist

Department: Imaging Services

Location: Westborough, MA

Description: The Imaging Specialist is responsible for accurate scanning of documents. In our Imaging Services area, this individual will sort all incoming daily mail, distribute all non-claim mail, and open and sort all claim mail; scan all standard claim forms and claim supporting documents. 

In addition, the Imaging Specialist provides receptionist support on a regular basis and as needed basis.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent; prior customer service experience a plus. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, be detailed, organized and able to prioritize tasks, work within timeframes and meet deadlines, recognize and maintain confidentiality, and communicate in a professional manner. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Valid driver’s license required.

Claims Provider Specialist

Department: Provider Pricing

Location: Westborough, MA

Description: The Claims Provider Specialist is responsible for managing provider database information, provider association with claims, and the set-up of online customer portals. Will assist with research to settle claim pricing questions, as well as the provider and member appeal process. Will provide assistance in all department research activities.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent; prior experience with medical terminology and/or billing and coding preferred. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, be detailed, organized and able to prioritize tasks, work within timeframes and meet deadlines, recognize and maintain confidentiality, and communicate in a professional manner. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
